Green Hills Retirement Community is proudly supported by 12 area churches. The pastors of these churches along with 2 members of their congregation comprise a Council of Advisors. This Council and sponsoring churches promote Green Hills in the following ways:

  • support its mission and philosophy
  • assist with meeting the spiritual needs of Green Hills' residents by providing
    • leadership with worship services
    • Bible study
    • prayer breakfasts
    • one on one visits
  • take advantage of volunteer opportunities
  • financially support Green Hills and its Pastoral Care program
  • assist with fundraising activities
  • and be a leader in representing Green Hills to the community.

Everyone at Green Hills is blessed to have a Chaplain on staff providing for emotional and spiritual needs.

Our Chaplain leads and provides:

    • Spiritual care with one on one visits at Center and Inn
    • Participation weekly in morning conferences concerning residents
    • Presence and reflection at Care Conferences
    • Leads prayer times for staff
    • Leads Bible study for assisted living residents at the Inn
    • Prayer and song worship at The Emerald, our dementia care center
    • Worship leadership for Center and Inn
    • Stories and relationship building ministries at the Child Center with all three age group classes
    • Coordination of needs of residents with local pastors and congregations
    • Coordination of care with end of life issues
    • Representation of Green Hills pastoral care with the Council of Advisors
    • Representation of Green Hills with West Liberty and Bellefontaine ministerial associations
    • Representing Green Hills to the community in a broad way for awareness, and
    • Training and education – Pastor Forbes is available for continuing education on pastoral care issues with persons with disabilities and end of life spiritual care and ethics issues
